Journey to Ava Christine: We are in China!!!!

Hi all! We are in Beijing!!! It was a very long and uncomfortable flight but we are here! The flight out of Evansville was small but not too bad! We got to Detroit and were getting ready to board when they told us there was a mechanical problem with the plane so there would be a delay! Well you all know how well Tim likes to fly so that about sent him packing back to Mt. Carmel! So after a 2 hour delay they finally got us a new plane! So we were off on the 13 hour flight. We had a great window seat, and LOTS of turbulence so we had a great view of the wing bouncing. They were not sure if we would make our connection in Tokyo because of the delay, they thought we'd have to stay the night in Tokyo, but we made it just in time. They rushed us through the Tokyo airport practically running. We got all sat on the plane and backed out of the gate and one of the engines quit!!! So they worked on it awhile and then we had to be towed back to the gate and maintenance had to come work on the engine while we sat on the plane! I thought I might have to duck tape Tim to the seat at this point! HAHA!!! So after another 1-2 hour delay we were off again --this time on a plane that had just had mechanical problems--that was pretty scarey! But finally we are in Beijing! We got here about 1200 midnight! Our hotel seems very nice and so are the people in our group we've met quite a few of them so far! Tomorrow we are off to sightsee!
We are finally in the same country as Ava!!! How cool! Boys we miss you already but you wouldn't have like that flight at all! Have a fun week!
