forbidden city

    Hello everyone,
It is our second day in china. We just returned from a tour of the forbidden city and Tianemin square. Very beautiful. They are getting things ready for the Olympics so they are creating sculptures and flower gardens everywhere. We stopped for a group picture and drew quite the crowd. several Chinese were taking our picture and video. I suppose they thought we must be someone important. I had several people try to sell me a rolex for ten bucks. In hindsight i wish i would have gotten one. It looked like the real thing. ha
patrick will be glad to know we took his suggestion and rubbed a lion sculptures foot for good luck. In tianemin square there were soldiers or police every 20ft. At least you felt safe as a tourist. The drivers here are insane. pedestrians do not have the right of way and they are very liberal with their car horns. You have to make a mad dash across the street and hope your insurance is good over here( someone call state farm for me ) ha ha. We are going to see the Chinese acrobatic team this afternoon. sounds like fun.
Dayne and keagan i did make quite the negotiation on the street for a souvenier i think you will get a kick out of.
                                                                          love you all
